The graceful The Last Dryad by Alexander Sterling Calder is nestled at the edge of the Faculty Glade. The university has never been comfortable with its explicitness; for 20 years it resided in a courtyard of the Hearst Gymnasium for Women. The photograph was taken before the statue was slightly modified to blur labial definition.
